Ed is best known in the international shipping community for his outstanding customer relationships, process improvements, industry leadership, and ability to build cohesive organizations and high performance teams. His 32 years of experience with global organizations in North and South America, Asia and Europe include a variety of senior management positions, which most recently included the title of Chief Operating Officer for APL, Singapore.

In this role, Ed led all of APL's activities in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He also managed all U.S. government policy issues, humanitarian aid programs, Department of Defense cargo, and APL's government affairs, including American Automar, an APL subsidiary providing defense logistics services to the U.S. government.

Under his direction, APL received a variety of high profile industry awards, including: Best Trans-Pacific Line, Cargo News Asia; Shipping Line of the Year, International Freighting Weekly; Carrier of the Year by Target, Pier1, Wal-Mart and Phillips; and Carrier of the Year, Journal of Commerce.

Ed also worked for Sea-Land Service, Inc. over a 25-year period encompassing a wide variety of senior management roles, including Senior Vice President, Europe/Mediterranean; Senior Vice President, North America; and Vice President and General Manager of Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

As USL's President & CEO, Ed will use all of his world-class experience to lead the multi- talented and diverse USL team.

Noel has had over 35 years of experience at the top of the shipping and transportation industries in New Zealand and Australia.

New Zealand born, Mr. Coom has worked for a number of New Zealand based shipping organizations, including a period as Managing Director of Sofrana Unilines. He is well known in the industry throughout Australasia for his tenure with ANZDL, where he held senior executive roles in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

His most recent transportation industry involvement was as Group General Manager, Rail Services of Tranz Rail.

Nick joins USL as an expert in trade management, business strategy,commercial sales and marketing, gained from various management positions with both APL and OOCL. His 30 years of experience have concentrated upon directing commercial activities in both Asia and North America to achieve high levels of profitability for his respective employers.

In his present role, Nick is responsible for Trade Management for the Transpacific and Australia/New Zealand Southbound sectors, as well as for all Corporate marketing functions.

Steve Specializing in Asian and European trades for the past 24 years, Steve brings a high level of sales, pricing, and marketing expertise to his position at USL. He most recently worked as Vice President of Sales, North America for Wan-Hai Lines where he developed and managed their nationwide sales organization. Steve also worked in various capacities for such well-recognized companies as United States Consolidation, K-Line America, Inc., and Hapag-Lloyd.

Steve has proven experience in successfully launching new services in the Transpacific through his ability to build & manage a commercial team, and through his extensive customer relationships.

Tim’s key strengths include starting up new commercial divisions, pricing, contract negotiations, revenue budgeting & forecasting, new market penetration, sales, and account retention, among others. His strengths come from 18 years of experience in the industry, all of which were spent in sales and commercial capacities within the Asian trades.

He joins USL from Wan-Hai Lines where he worked as Assistant Vice President, Pacific Trade controlling pricing for over 300 import contracts. Prior to Wan Hai, Tim held a similar position at TPL, having previously worked for K-Line over a 10-year period.
